The teacher's email lands on a Thursday at 9pm. Museum trip on the 14th, permission slip to sign, packed lunch and closed shoes required, back at 5:30pm. You read it in bed. You tell yourself you will write it all down tomorrow. You will not write it down tomorrow.

That is exactly the gap the mental load escapes through: the information arrives, it is understood, and it lands nowhere. Every Mental Loadless household gets a dedicated email address. You forward the email — three seconds, from bed — and Coco creates the calendar events, tasks and grocery items that follow from it.

Your household address ends in @in.mentalloadless.com — a subdomain reserved for receiving, entirely separate from the domain Mental Loadless writes to you from.

• 16 characters, drawn from a 30-symbol alphabet with no confusable characters: no i, no l, no o, no u, no zero, no one. The address is built to be read over the phone, dictated to a school secretary, or copied by hand onto a sign-up form
• It encodes nothing: not your name, not your household, not your personal email. Around 78 bits of cryptographic randomness — it is not guessable
• Regenerable at any time: one tap and the old address dies instantly, replaced by a new one
• Created automatically the first time you open the "Household address" screen — nothing to configure

Give it to the school, the sports club, the after-school programme — or simply use it as the destination for your own forwards.

• Calendar events — dated, in the right time zone, placed in the household calendar
• Tasks — with a due date whenever the email carries one
• Grocery items — whenever the email asks you to bring something

Everything that comes from an email carries a "Received by email" tag. At a glance you can tell what you entered yourself from what arrived through the inbox.

And if the reading got something wrong, or you change your mind: a grouped undo for 24 hours. One gesture, and everything a single email created disappears at once — not task by task.

• The message body, in plain text or HTML
• PDFs — the back-to-school circular, the club rules, the after-school invoice
• Photos and images (JPEG, PNG) — a photographed note, a poster, a scanned timetable
• Calendar invitations (.ics) — parsed per the RFC 5545 standard, placed in your household's time zone, with recurrences expanded (Wednesday training becomes every Wednesday, not a single line)

• Invoice or payment deadline → a dated task, amount in the description, high priority
• Document to sign → a task, ahead of the deadline
• Medical appointment letter → an event, with no comment whatsoever about a health condition
• Delivery → a slot you will not miss
• Till receipt → purchase history and inventory (what is actually in your cupboards) — never the shopping list, which stays what you still have to buy, not what you already bought

Detected first names are checked against your household's real roster: a "Leo" who does not exist in your family will not create a phantom member. Strict output caps apply per email — 15 events, 15 tasks, 30 items — so a badly forwarded newsletter can never flood your week.

A public email address is an open door. Here are the locks.

Three levels of trust

• Household member — recomputed from the real roster on every email: the message goes through and applies
• Approved third party — the school, the club, the childminder: an explicit, revocable list you build yourself
• Unknown sender → quarantine. This is the important one: nothing is read, nothing goes near the AI until an adult in the household decides. The email waits. It is not analysed, not structured, not turned into anything.

The rest of the guardrails

• Anti-spam and anti-malware filtering upstream, before the message ever reaches your household; strict SPF and DMARC reject on a subdomain that never sends anything
• Silent rejection of addresses that match no household, and a quota of 30 emails per household per day
• An email is treated as hostile data: the model that reads it has no tools available, receives no context about your household beyond first names and the date, produces only inert lists validated strictly, and never replies to the sender. An instruction hidden inside a PDF cannot trigger an action — verified by a dedicated adversarial-PDF test
• 7-day purge: the raw message body and its attachments are destroyed automatically. The content never comes back down into the app: the screen shows you who wrote, when, and what came of it — not the message
• Per-household encryption (AES-256-GCM), with keys protected by a managed key vault
• Hosted in France (Cosmos France Central), AI in the European Union, no subprocessor outside Microsoft
• Adults-only surface, fail-closed: if there is any doubt about the role, access is denied, not granted

Three deliberate differences from email:

• No quarantine: your household is identified by your authenticated session, not by an address. What you share comes from you
• Always in propose mode: events, tasks and groceries are proposed and editable before anything is written. A trusted email writes directly (with the 24-hour undo); a shared file passes under your eyes first
• Fallback to the document vault: if the analysis yields nothing usable, the file is offered to the encrypted vault of your Private Space — never left lying around in the clear

Accepted types: PDF, JPEG, PNG, 1 to 10 files per gesture. On iPhone, HEIC photos are converted automatically before upload.

What if this address starts getting spam?

Three barriers stack up. Professional anti-spam and anti-malware filtering upstream; silent rejection of any address matching no household; and systematic quarantine of unknown senders — a quarantined message is never read, never analysed, never converted into anything. And if the address does end up circulating, you regenerate it with one tap: the old one stops existing immediately.

Who can write to my household?

Anyone can try; almost nobody has an effect. Members of your household and third parties you have explicitly approved (the school, the club, up to 50 senders) go straight through. Everyone else falls into quarantine and waits for an adult's decision. An approved sender can be revoked at any time.

Where do attachments go?

They are encrypted with your household key, used for extraction, then purged automatically after 7 days. They never come back down into the app: you see the sender, the date and what was created, not the file. If you want to keep a document, the Private Space document vault is what that is for.

Can I change my address?

Yes, whenever you like, with no limit. Regeneration is immediate: the old address dies the second the new one appears. Just remember to pass the new one to the school and the clubs if you had given it to them — messages sent to the old address will be silently rejected.

Does it work on a free account?

Every household gets a dedicated email address. Paid plans unlock more AI capacity and more family features, but reading a forwarded email is not downgraded on a free account: it is the same model reading for everyone.
